Chassis - start by building the main floor pan
Chassis - the build the main frame for all the body work etc
Bodywork - next build up all the parts for the wheel arches. You will need to make 8 of the half parts and 16 of the full parts
Bodywork - next assemble the front arch as shown, other side is the just the opposite
Bodywork - next assemble the rear arch as shown, other side is the just the opposite
Bodywork - next gather the parts in the image, do the same for the other side
Bodywork - assemble the arches onto the running board as shown, again the other side is just the opposite
Bodywork - make the hood as shown
Bodywork - make the front bumper/grille as shown
Bodywork - make the roof as shown
Seat/driver - make the seat as shown
Seat/driver - make the driver as shown
Seat/driver - strap the driver in using 3 elastic bands
Rear differential - gather and pre assemble the parts as shown
Rear differential - modify a yellow cog as detailed. This was only done to ensure the rods would lock in place allowing the drive through
Rear differential - assemble diff as shown
Engine - gather and pre assemble the parts as shown. Modify the parts as detailed
Engine - assembly the main block and crank shaft as shown
Engine - fit the piston and rods. This can be a bit fiddly but if you twist the end of the block you can easily then slide the piston/rod in place
Front suspension - gather and pre assemble parts as shown
Front suspension - assemble as shown, the other side is just the same
Rear suspension - gather and pre assemble parts as shown
Rear suspension - assemble as shown, the other side is just the same
Gears - gather and pre assemble parts as shown
Gears- then assemble as shown
Gears- assemble as shown
Gears- assemble as shown
Gears- assemble as shown
Gears- assemble as shown
Putting it together - assemble the rear diff into the chassis as shown
Putting it together - fit the front suspension
Putting it together - fit the link for the steering
Putting it together - just another front end image
Putting it together - fit the brace for the rear suspension
Putting it together - fit the front arches and sanity check on fitment of the front suspension
Putting it together - fit the rear arches and sanity check on fitment of the rear suspension
Putting it together - fit the front bumber/grille
It should now look this
And this with the driver and seat fitted
Make this, the main drive motor mount
Putting it together - fit the main drive motor mount
Putting it together - fit the idler gear for the gearbox
Putting it together - fit the 1st and 2nd gears
Putting it together - fit the main shifter gears
Putting it together - make and fit the gear selector mechanism
Putting it together - make and fit the mounts for the processor
Putting it together - make and fit mounts for the gear shift motor
Putting it together - mount the motor for the steering and mount the handheld unit for the steer motor
Putting it together - fit the main drive motor and mount the handheld unit
It should now look like this
Putting it together - another view of the mounted steering motor
Putting it together - fit the processor and the gear shift motor
It should now look like this
Putting it together - fit the roof
Putting it together - fit the hood and stay
Putting it together - fit the side netting
Putting it together - fit the other side netting
There we go, fit the wheels and job done finished :)
It starts with the main chassis and then the body parts, wheel arches etc. The next part is the main mechanicals, gearbox, engine, rear differential etc. Then it shows how and where all these parts attach and the fitment of the 3 motors, one to steer, one to change gear and the other to drive the gear box.
The link below is to a Word doc and lists all the parts required to build this. The slideshow on the right gives a small amount of information that may guide you in building this model.
